Lupine Love
When we lived in NY state I purchased some unknown to me flower called a Lupine. I never did get the thing to grow. My neighbour had a few in her garden that she prized and protected. Then we moved to Nova Scotia. One day I took a walk on the back harbour trail and Kaboom! The whole place was covered in pink, purple and white Lupines. It’s truly a site to see. They look like the most exotic flower, but they grow like weeds. I even see little plants that have self seeded growing in my flower boxes. They are the floral gift to northern climates. Seeing the Lupines in bloom is worth a trip to Nova Scotia. Hope you enjoy.
Hey Anna – I love lupines, too. We have them all over the garden, and I harvest seed every year so we can plant even more! Have you seen the kids' book "Miss Rumphius" that's about a lady who goes around planting lupines everywhere? Very cute book.
Hi Anna, Lupins grow here too although I struggle to grow them – the slugs gobble them up!

…so pretty. they remind me of our bluebonnets which i think may be of the lupine family…enjoy the milder weather! xoxo, mickey
Lupins! Love them. Must get out for a drive this weekend to see some. We have the book"Miss Rumphius" well worth reading, One of my all time fave children's books.

Lovely pictures, Anna, thanks for sharing! I love seeing the lupins in bloom as it signifies the start of summer.
