A Perfect Birthday.

At my age the thing I want to do most on my birthday is nothing. It was an entirely successful day. Slept in with the help of Tony who got Dusty off to the bus. Lounged around and drank coffee. Made a mess without cleaning it up. Then I headed off to the spa for my massage. Unbelievable. The massage itself was wonderful, but best of all was the steam shower. Tony has been trying to convince me that we need to have a steam shower in our new bathroom. I couldn’t quite wrap my head around that sort of luxury, but after today I am a believer. I found that it was impossible to have a thought in my head while in that steam shower. Not that my thoughts are in any way profound, but they are many and loud. For half an hour they were completely silenced. The best part of the day was when Dusty got off the school bus. First Gerry the bus driver sang me happy birthday and then Dusty announced that not only had he made me a card, but several children in his class and his teacher had as well. How sweet is that? Merci, Mme. Danielle. Life is good.

Happy Birthday! Finding your blog seems more like a gift for me though. Strange synchronicities at work: I have visited Lunenberg and Marblehead, MA. The two places I noticed in your posts. And I make what I call bandeaux, which are very like your beautiful flowered headbands! I love your house, even in its renovation stage I can see the beauty of the large rooms and lovely attention to detail around the doorframes. Lucky you! Will definitely be back for more visits! Quite a tonic on this snowy (sigh)Ottawa day.
