Amelia Rose

Amelia Rose is one of my sillier hats, but I love her.  You can’t quite see it in this photo, but the flower is enormous.  As in, stands out a couple of inches away from the head.  I had started by trying to make a polar fleece fascinator, which is quite a silly concept in itself.  But then I felt that if it was polar fleece, it really needed to be warm, so I added in a hat as an after thought.  Love watching women try this one on.  The reactions range from horror, to hysterical laughing to love.

Amelia Rose

I have been having so much fun designing for next year’s fall line. I gave myself the challenge of coming up with a fleece fascinator. The thing is that fleece is so practical and fascinators have nothing at all to do with practicality. So, this is what I came up with. I have taken some liberties with the word fascinator. I guess it’s really more a tuque or cloche, but it’s mostly about the giant flower, so I think it’s legal. I have put these two up for sale in my etsy shop. There are a lot more colours on the way.

    Hi Anna –

I love the big rose, and I don't mind that it's more of a touque than a cloche! By the way, I just wrote a nice fat post about you on my blog. I love your work.

    Cheers!
    Nancy
