Hand Knit and Felted Cloche Hat- Louise- Granite – Made to order

Louise is the bee’s knees. She is a classic 1920s style cloche hat. She is meant to be pulled down low and the brim can be worn turned up or down. The brim is tapered in the back, so that the hat does not get pushed up by a collar or shawl.

I begin this hat by dyeing the Canadian Dorset yarn. It is then hand knit and felted by hand. After shaping the hat on a hat block, I create the flowers from 100% wool felt.

Each hat is made to order. The time to create your hat will depend on the work load in front of me, but I will give you an honest estimate either before or after the order has been placed.

I can make this hat in many colours, so don’t hesitate to ask if you have your own artistic vision.

Please let me know your head size.

To measure your head, take a soft tape measure and measure just above the eyebrows, above the tips of the ears and around the largest part of the back of your head. Try to not let the tape measure swoop down towards your neck. If you don’t have a soft tape measure you can use a string and then carefully measure the string. Repeat this a few times to be sure that you keep getting the same number.
