Vintage Hat- Wide Brim Straw- 1940s

Description

This hat is an amazing treasure. I can’t even fathom how the straw was so delicately manipulated to create this lace like structure. The straw frame is covered with veiling and the hat is adorned with the most beautiful flower sprays. The hat is held on with an elastic that pulls behind the head. The hat is in very good condition, but there are some age spots on the ribbon both inside and out. My educated guess is that this hat is from the 1940s. It looks earlier, but the ribbon and elastic used inside make me believe it is not.
